The Vietnam women’s national team has begun training in Viet Tri (Phu Tho)
On June 19, the Vietnam women’s national team held their first training session at the training ground of the Phu Tho Provincial Sports Complex, preparing for upcoming matches against the women’s national teams of Maldives, the UAE, and Guam in Group E of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers.
The whole team is in a confident and relaxed state of mind. In the morning session, Huynh Nhu had to train separately due to some minor health issues, but by the afternoon session, the captain of the Vietnam national team was able to warm up with her teammates.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese-origin player Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi, who has been called up to the national team for the first time and is attracting attention from fans, has also shown confidence in quickly integrating with the team.
In both training sessions today, after a light warm-up with the ball, Coach Mai Duc Chung’s players worked on finishing, small-group coordination drills, and quick one-touch passing to break through pressing situations.
The Vietnam women’s national team will have around 13 more training sessions to fine-tune their fitness and tactics before their opening match against the Maldives, scheduled for 7:00 PM on June 29.
All matches will be streamed live on the VFF YouTube channel and FPT Play.
