Vietnam”s head football coach is confident of his national team after his selection of the 25 best footballers, versatile enough to handle various formats as SEA Games approaches, said journalists.
On returning to Vietnam yesterday, Austrian coach Alfred Riedl told journalists who waited for him at the Noi Bai airport that he is optimistic about his team”s prospects at the region”s largest amateur championships.
SI chose the best 25 players Vietnam has to offer, and they will be trained to fit into the team”s different formations and tactics,⬝ confirmed the coach.
The players are all flexible and can play different positions, thus, the coaching staff has the option of changing tactics and formations if needed, Alfred Riedl explained.
The coach said he is hopeful of taking Vietnam to its best performance ever at the upcoming SEA Games in the Philippines in November, which will mean claiming the men”s football title, after they finished second under his tutelage in 2003.
