U17 Vietnam drew 0-0 with U17 Laos in the first friendly match in Qatar
At 10 pm on 19 May (Vietnam time), the U17 Vietnam had a friendly match with the U17 Laos during a training session in Qatar to prepare for the 2023 AFC U17 Asian Cup.
This is a match that was not in the original plan of the U17 Vietnam. When going to Qatar for training, by chance, the U17 Vietnam met with the U17 Laos, who also chose Qatar as a training destination to prepare for the 2023 AFC U17 Asian Cup. Both teams were arranged by the host country to practice on a cluster of training grounds in the Qatar University Sports Complex. Very quickly, the coaching assistants of the two teams connected and agreed to organize a friendly match to create more opportunitites for the players to compete.
The match lasts 90 minutes and is divided into two halves of 45 minutes each. On the side of U17 Vietnam, due to having just undergone a heavy training period in the country, coach Hoang Anh Tuan did not set high requirements for his students. He just reminded the players to focus, relax and show respect for the opponent even though this is just a practice match.
In general, U17 Vietnam shows the ability to control the ball and launch attacks quite well. However, the situations only stopped at the level of creating opportunities but could not success.
Meanwhile, U17 Laos also showed a lot of progress and affirmed that qualifying to the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2023 is completely worthy. Many times, Laos’ young players created waves in front of the U17 Vietnam goal with sharp counter-attacks.
Neither team had scored after two halves and the practice match ended 0-0.
According to the plan, U17 Vietnam will play a friendly match with U17 Qatar on May 21. This match will take place at 18:30 (22:30 VN time) at Aspire Academy, Qatar.
