U18 Seoul Eou Cup 2023: U18 Vietnam lost to the top team in Africa
U18 Vietnam could not create a surprise in the first match at the U18 Seoul Cup 2023 international friendly tournament against an opponent considered to be from Africa’s leading football platform, U18 Morocco.
In recent years, Moroccan football has developed strongly and left a strong mark in the World Cup arena. They are the first African team to win the right to play in the semi-finals of the biggest football festival on the planet. Therefore, it is not surprising that Morocco’s youth teams continue to present a generation of players nurtured at many prestigious training facilities. Head coach Mohammed Ouahbi brings to this year’s tournament a number of names such as Maamar Ali (Anderlecht, Belgium), Lekhedem Youssef (Real Madrid), Issaoui Tarek (Troyes, France), Naim Byar (Bologna), Khalifi Yassine (Lille, France) ), Hoary Ali (Elche, Spain), Othmane (Montpellier, France).
With such a squad, it is not surprising that U18 Morocco dominated the match on the field right after the opening whistle. In the 10th minute, U18 Morocco quickly scored the opening goal of the match thanks to strong pressure on U18 Vietnam’s field. The goal made the spirit of the African representative much more excited. They took advantage of their superior speed and technique to score 3 more goals in the first 45 minutes. The first half ended with a score of 4-0 for U18 Morocco.
Entering the second half, coach Hoang Anh Tuan made many adjustments in both personnel and tactics. U18 Vietnam played much better. The red team’s defense is reinforced and shows less space. However, U18 Vietnam’s attack still lacks a bit of sharpness to be able to score goals against their opponents. After that, U18 Morocco had another goal and this was also the only goal of the second half.
In the end, U18 Vietnam lost to U18 Morocco with a score of 0-5. This failure will bring many lessons to young players. In the next match, U18 Vietnam will meet a team from Europe, U18 Ukraine.
