U18 Vietnam had a commendable performance against U18 Korea
Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team had an effortful match against U18 Korea at the 2023 Seoul Cup international friendly tournament.
In the final match at Seoul Cup 2023, coach Hoang Anh Tuan continued to present many important tests. In goal, Nguyen Bao Ngoc is trusted to be the main keeper. Quoc Tu, Anh Khoa, Quoc Khanh played from the start. Along with that, the main frame of U18 Vietnam, Cong Phuong, Manh Hung, Nguyen Hoang, Dang Duong or Minh Tien, continue to appear in the starting lineup.
In the first half, the Southeast Asian representative played impressively. U18 Vietnam persistently pursued the opponent, greatly limiting the attack power of U18 Korea. Jung Ma-ho, Park Su-bin or Jin Hun-seo had dangerous opportunities but they could not defeat the well-organized white shirt defense. U18 Vietnam shows progress through each match. Competitive spirit, concentration and professional improvements were the bright spots of U18 Vietnam in the first half.
However, the second half was the time when U18 Korea made a difference thanks to the shape and speed. In the 55th minute, the home team scored the opening goal with an accurate shot. A few minutes later, the second goal came for U18 Korea. After 2 unexpected goals, U18 Vietnam rearranged the team and increased the speed of the match in search of an equalizer. Unfortunately, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team failed to score a goal and ended the match with a score of 0-2.
U18 Vietnam learned many valuable lessons after 3 matches at Seoul Cup 2023. The players improved through each match and gradually met the increasingly advanced professional requirements of Vietnamese youth teams. From training trips and quality international friendly matches, young Vietnamese players will have the opportunity to learn and develop, because in the future they will be the next generation to the U23/Olympic and National team.
