U20 Vietnam gathers full force before the final test in UAE
On the morning of February 19, the last 5 players on the list of U20 Vietnam to gather on preparing for the 2023 U20 Asian Cup were present in Dubai (UAE). Thus, coach Hoang Anh Tuan had full force before entering the friendly match against Dubai City FC. This is also a match that is considered a “final test” of U20 Vietnam before moving to Uzbekistan to participate in the continental arena.
5 players joined the team today including Ho Van Cuong, Tran Nam Hai and Dinh Xuan Tien (SLNA), Nguyen Phi Hoang (SHB Da Nang) and Bui Vi Hao (Becamex Binh Duong). These 5 players were unable to participate in the first phase of U20 Vietnam’s gathering due to the V.League 2023 match schedule at the clubs. Although they joined the team late, the players still received high praise from the coaching staff for their expertise as well as their ability to integrate thanks to their valuable experience in the domestic professional playground.
Also this morning, the U20 Vietnam will take a flight from Saudi Arabia to the UAE to continue the training program ahead of the 2023 AFC U20 Asian Cup. Before that, in a friendly match with the host U20 Saudi Arabia on the evening of the February 18, the players of coach Hoang Anh Tuan won 2-1 with a goal from Van Khang in the 10th minute and Quoc Viet in the 25th minute.
In the friendly match against Dubai City FC on February 23, the coaching staff will continue to evaluate and review the squad, especially for the group of new players to join the team, from which will make a decision on the short list. U20 Vietnam will attend the 2023 AFC U20 Asian Cup, which will take place in Uzbekistan from March 1 to March 18. According to the draw results, U20 Vietnam is in Group B with Australia, Qatar and Iran.
