VFF signed a contract with coach Hoang Anh Tuan in charge of the U18-U20 teams
On the morning of December 9, at the headquarters of the VFF, General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi represented VFF to sign the contract between with coach Hoang Anh Tuan. Accordingly, Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan will officially assume the position of full-time coach of the U18-U20 team until 2025.
In the upcoming time, coach Hoang Anh Tuan will lead the U20 Vietnam to attend the 2023 AFC U20 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan in May 2023 and aim to win the right to participate in the U20 World Cup. Expressing the honor to be invited by VFF to lead the U20 national team, head coach Hoang Anh Tuan said that the main goal this time is to prepare a long-term plan for the young U18 players, towards the U20 World Cup 2025, further creating the next generation of players for the Vietnamese national team.
Revealing the force of the U20 Vietnam, coach Hoang Anh Tuan said: “In this generation, there are a number of players who have worked with me from the U16 to U18 team. While coach Dinh The Nam was the head coach, I also had the opportunity to follow the team. Currently, I have a full list of players who have attended previous tournaments led by Mr. Dinh The Nam; along with a number of other players at the age of 18. Also this year, the U17 team had a training tour in Germany with some players who were desired by some German football clubs. I will give those players the opportunity to play with the U20 players this time.”
Sharing about the upcoming plan, coach Hoang Anh Tuan said: “Recently, we have the international U21 tournament in Can Tho and the U20 Vietnam will participate in this tournament. Participating in an international tournament has many professional benefits. Personally, I just got a new assignment, and I really need a tournament to review the force for the missions in 2023.”
“In the last few years, a number of clubs and academies have invested in youth training, with some very good results. Therefore, consecutively Vietnamese football has had achievements in the previous period with the generation of some players such as Cong Phuong, Quang Hai .. or Bui Doan Viet Anh, Doan Van Hau, and then the U17 group, just on top of the Asian U17 qualifying after winning 3 matches to participate in the final round. I think if the clubs and academies continue to invest more and VFF have a long-term plan like this, has a preparation plan for 2-3 or 5 years, Vietnamese football will improve with new achievements,” said coach Hoang Anh Tuan.
