VFF Vice President Trần Anh Tú encouraged the Vietnam Women’s Futsal Team ahead of the ASEAN Women’s Futsal Championship
On the morning of November 13, at the Futsal Club Gymnasium in District 8, Ho Chi Minh City, VFF Vice President Trần Anh Tú met with the members of the Vietnam Women’s Futsal Team before their departure for the 2024 ASEAN Women’s Futsal Championship in the Philippines.
On behalf of the VFF Executive Committee, Vice President Trần Anh Tú praised the efforts of Coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng and the players in their training and preparation for the 2024 ASEAN Women’s Futsal Championship, including the friendly matches and training camps. Vice President Trần Anh Tú encouraged the entire team to remain united and continue working hard. He emphasized the importance of following the tactics set by the coaching staff during the tournament to overcome each match and achieve the best possible results at the ASEAN Championship, with a focus on the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Championship qualifiers.
On behalf of the entire team, captain Trịnh Nguyễn Thanh Hằng expressed her gratitude to the leadership of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for their constant support and for creating favorable conditions for the team. She promised that the team would strive with determination and effort to bring glory to the nation.
In preparation for the 2024 ASEAN Women’s Futsal Championship, the Vietnam Women’s Futsal Team has spent a month training domestically, including two international friendly matches against a strong opponent, the Russia Women’s Futsal Team. Prior to this, the team participated in international friendly tournaments in Thailand (where they won the championship) and in China (where they finished as runners-up). According to the plan, Coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng and his players will depart for the Philippines tomorrow (November 14).
At the 2024 ASEAN Women’s Futsal Championship, the Vietnam Women’s Futsal Team will play four matches against Myanmar, Indonesia, hosts the Philippines, and Thailand, from November 17 to November 20.
Commenting on the upcoming opponents, Coach Nguyễn Đình Hoàng said: “The first match is always the toughest. As for Myanmar, although we haven’t fully analyzed their playing style yet, we will devise a strategy to counter their strengths, which are physical fitness and size. The following opponents are also at a similar level to us, especially Thailand, which is a very strong team. We will need to approach each match carefully, particularly with the tight schedule, and our goal is to strive for the best possible results.”
