VFF’s leaders met and encouraged the U16 Vietnam team
This afternoon (June 18), Tran Quoc Tuan, President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), met and encouraged the members of the Vietnam U16 national team before their departure to participate in the AFF U16 Championship 2024. Also present at the meeting were VFF Executive Committee member and Head of the Vietnam U16 delegation Tran Van Quynh, as well as General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi.
During the meeting, the head coach of the national U16 team, Tran Minh Chien, reported to the leadership of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on the team’s technical work over the past period. He also expressed gratitude to the VFF leadership for their continuous support and for creating favorable conditions for the players’ activities and training.
On behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) leadership, President Tran Quoc Tuan and General Secretary Duong Nghiep Khoi encouraged and boosted the team’s spirits before their departure to the tournament. President Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized that this regional championship is an excellent opportunity for preparation towards the AFC U17 qualifiers. He assured that the VFF would provide the best conditions for the players to gain exposure and accumulate experience upon their return from the tournament.
Specifically, the team will participate in international friendly tournaments against strong opponents and undertake training camps in countries with developed football infrastructures. The VFF expects that with systematic investment and the experience gained from official tournaments like the AFF U16 Championship, the players will mature and gain confidence in their performances.
In addition, President Tran Quoc Tuan also reminded the players of important aspects during their competition period: maintaining the image of national athletes, minimizing injuries, focusing on the game, and maintaining discipline to create a cohesive playing style that yields the best competitive results.
Also at the meeting, Head of Delegation Tran Van Quynh expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) for entrusting them with this important mission. He conveyed his joy in accompanying the young players and expressed confidence that with the care and investment from the leadership at all levels, the young generations of players will achieve many successes. He emphasized that this would contribute to showcasing the image of the Vietnam U16 national team specifically and Vietnamese football in general, not only in Southeast Asia but also at the Asian level.
