Vietnam U19 futsal team recorded a resounding 18–0 victory over Brunei in their opening match of the 2025 AFF U19 Futsal Championship

The Vietnam U19 futsal team made an impressive start to the 2025 AFF U19 Futsal Championship with a commanding 18–0 victory over Brunei U19, securing a strong opening to their campaign at the regional tournament.

With superior strength, the Vietnam U19 futsal players quickly imposed their dominance, completely controlling the match and applying constant pressure on the opponents’ goal. In the first half, Vietnam broke the deadlock early and built a large lead thanks to their varied and highly effective attacking play.

Đỗ Tuấn Vũ opened the scoring spree with a brace in the 4th and 33rd minutes. Hoàng Minh Thức also left his mark with two goals in the 7th and 14th minutes. Nguyễn Thạc Hiếu and Nguyễn Thọ Minh Huy both shone brightly by scoring hat-tricks, netting in the 9th, 18th and 26th minutes, and the 14th, 21st and 27th minutes respectively. Nguyễn Huỳnh Tuấn Việt added a brace with goals in the 20th and 28th minutes, while Trần Lê Bộ (23rd minute), Vũ Đại Học (26th minute), Phạm Quang Huy and Nguyễn Minh Lương (both in the 38th minute) also got their names on the scoresheet. In addition, Brunei U19 conceded two own goals in the 21st and 34th minutes.

The emphatic 18–0 victory not only earned Vietnam U19 futsal a full three points but also gave them a significant advantage in goal difference after the opening match.

The result underlined the team’s thorough preparation, squad depth and strong determination under head coach Nguyễn Anh Khoa at the first-ever AFF-organised U19 futsal tournament.
