FIFA, AFC appreciate Vietnam Futsal team with the achievement joining in the Round of 16
With a draw 1-1 in the match with Czech Republic, Vietnam Futsal Team through to FIFA Futsal World Cup knockout stage of FIFA Futsal World Cup 2021.
FIFA stated that: “Czech Republic and Vietnam went into their Group D meeting on three points each, knowing that a draw would take them both through. “Chau Doan Phat of Vietnam controls the ball under pressure from Lukas Krivanek of The Czech Republic during the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2021 group D match between Czech Republic and Vietnam at Kaunas Arena on September 19, 2021”. FIFA wrote.
Meanwhile, AFC stated that: “The result meant Vietnam – with four points – finished third in the group but advanced to the Round of 16 as one of the best third-placed finishers. Both teams went into the match tied on three points.Vietnam also had their fair share of chances but Nguyen Minh Tri and Vu Duc Tung both wasted opportunities as the score remained 0-0 going into the break”.
“It was the same scenario after the restart with the Czechs dictating play but Vietnam broke the deadlock against the run of play in the 35th minute through Chau Doan Phat, who finished off an excellent team move”.
With this result, Vietnam will play either Russia Football Union or Kazakhstan in the Round of 16.
