FIFA Futsal World Cup Asian Playoff – 1st Leg: Vietnam vs. Lebanon: 0-0
Vietnam and Lebanon played to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021 Asian Playoff tie on Sunday.
Vietnam and Lebanon kicked off the match cautiously but by the 10th minute, the Southeast Asians had accumulated several goal attempts but goalkeeper Hussein Hamdani denied them time and again.
The two custodians were the stars of the first half, with Vietnam goalkeeper Ho Van Y also making several impressive parries and blocks to keep the game in a deadlock heading into the second half.
Lebanon, seeking their first-ever appearance in the FIFA Futsal World Cup, went on the aggressive in the second half as they searched for the opening goal.
While Vietnam were forced to play more defensively, they weren’t threatened too much by Lebanon with the Southeast Asians closing the game strongly in their bid for an advantage in the first leg.
Even couldn’t win the first leg, keeping the cleaning net is a good result for Vietnam. The second leg will take place on May 25.
