Dong Thap was in complete control of the fourth round match and attacked relentlessly but haste and some poor skills saw chance after chance being frittered away.
The match was a bad-tempered affair with the army team getting one red and five yellow cards. Nguyen Bao Trung received marching orders in the 81st minute for time-wasting.
Despite the draw, Dong Thap remained top of the table with 10 points, three clear of The Cong.
