Futsal National team has the first training session
On Jul 20, Futsal national team with 22 players had gathered under the guidance of head coach Pham Minh Giang to prepare for the FIFA World Cup Lithuania 2021.
This time, the team gathered in Ho Chi Minh City’s Physical Training and Sports Centre instead of Thai Son Nam Arena as the previous to ensure the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Tran Anh Tu – Member of VFF Executive Committee, Head of the Futsal Committee, Head of the Vietnam Futsal Delegation in the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021 said that they are facing many difficulties because of the pandemic, however, all members had the highest determination and work hard to reach the best performance. The facilities of Ho Chi Minh City’s Physical Training and Sports Centre meet the standards for the preparation of the team in this period. VFF is working to support the team.
Before starting the training, all members did 2 tests RT-PCR on Jul 17 and 19 and all had negative results. Besides that, the team also completed 2 injections of the COVID-19 vaccine as the priority rule for the national teams who joining in the international competitions.
According to the draw result, Vietnam is in Group D with Brazil, Czech Republic, and Panama. Vietnam will play Brazil in their first group stage match on Sep 13, before the match with Panama on Sep 16, and the Czech Republic on Sep 19.
