A match between Thailand and Vietnam

The Vietnamese team did not play any matches in the past month, so its position remained unchanged in the rankings.

Meanwhile, Thailand jumped up two notches to 118th in the world with 288 points. This is now the largest gap between Vietnam and Thailand in recent years.

Iran (44th in the world’s rankings) continues to top the list from Asia; meanwhile Japan (58th) surpassed the Republic of Korea to claim the second position.

In the Southeast Asia region, Vietnam remained third following Thailand and the Philippines (135th in the world), followed by Singapore (148th place in the world’s rankings with with 198 points).

FIFA’s top ten rankings have not witnessed any changes with Belgium (1,506 points), Argentina (1,457 points) and Spain (1,374 points) still holding their top-three places respectively. The world’s top 20 rankings saw little change this month, with only Italy moving up one spot to 14th position.

A series of international friendly matches and the qualifying round of the World Cup 2018 is scheduled to take place in the near future, therefore the rankings will surely witness change.
