Truong Giang removed from national squad due to injury

Skipper of Binh Duong, Tran Truong Giang, has retired from the national squad in prepration for the VTV-T&T Cup due to an injury.

Coach Alfred Riedl has decided to let Truong Giang return to his club for treatment as the player has failed to be fit to the VTV-T&T Cup.

Nguyen Minh Phuong from Dong Tam Long An was appointed as captain of the team.

The players had light training on April 11 morning and tactic training in the afternoon.

Two players from Da Nang, Hong Minh and Manh Dung, who would gather with the team from April 14 after they return from a AFC Champions League in the Republic of Korea, would not start in the opening game against Uzbekistan on Sunday.
