The Cong Viettel failed to extended their winning streak to five games after losing 2-0 to their hosts Tien Giang.
However, they remain top as An Giang, who are keeping pressure on The Cong Viettel, earned a point from their visit to Quang Ninh Coal.

The Cong Viettel were favourites to win the match after impressive run, which earned them top spot in the table.
However, they surprisingly went down after six minutes with Thanh Khiem opening the scoring.
Thanh Tuan sealed the victory on 34 minutes.
Both The Cong Viettel and Tien Giang had one player sent off.
Thanh Khiem and Quoc Long were both sent off for receiving two yellow cards.
It was the first defeat for The Cong Viettel, who are expected to win promotion to the V-League next year.
An Giang failed to move level with The Cong Viettel as they were held to a 1-1 draw with hosts Quang Ninh Coal.
Trong Luat opened the scoring for An Giang, who looked to be in a good position to earn their third consecutive win.
However, Phu Thanh cancelled Trong Luat”s effort a minute later.
Van Hoa Haiphong earned a back-to-back victory, beating Can Tho 1-0 with a goal from Khanh Hung, who headed home on 16 minutes.
