Golden ball for Hong Son and Ngoc Cham

As for Duong Hong Son, 2008 was a very successfull and memorable year with the AFF 2008’s crown and AFF Cup 2008’s MVP title. Moreover, Son won the Golden Ball awarded to the Domestic Footballer of the Year held at Ho Chi Minh city yesterday. He defeated defender Vu Nhu Thanh and striker Le Cong Vinh in a voting session to clinch this Felicitation. With 331 points, Duong Hong Son left the Silver Ball Vu Nhu Thanh (234pts) further behind.

The third place & “Bronzeball” going to Vietnam’ striker Le Cong Vinh with 203 points much as he has scored a decisive goal to bring first AFF champion title for Vietnam.

About women player, Ngoc Cham has beaten her all rivals to pick up the trophy with 397 points. The Silver Ball and the Bronze belong to Dao Thi Mien and Tran Thi Kim Hong respectively.

Football season 2008 also saw SHB Da Nang striker Almeida has been handed the title for The best foreign player with 110 pts. This is his second consecutive trophy. While, Hanoi ACB’s midfielder Pham Thanh Luong won The best Vietnamese young player with 116/148 votes.

Golden Ball is the official prize which is in Vietnam Football Federation’s prize system with the view to honour player who is considered to have performed best over the previous year.
