Ground-breaking e-Goal programme commences in the ASEAN Zone
The pioneering e-Goal programme continued to create a meaningful impact across the Continent as 24 aspiring youth social ambassadors from 10 Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) Member Associations in the ASEAN Zone began their journey on Monday.
The first workshop focused on how sport can be used to accelerate progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will also delve into important topics such as Philanthropy in Football, Diversity and Inclusion, Safeguarding and Protection, Mental Health, Civic Engagement and Participation as well as Digital Citizenship and Social Entrepreneurship.
Aurora for Training and Development, together with the AFC, through its AFC Dream Asia Foundation, have been expanding the e-Goal programme to provide youth development opportunities through coaching and mentoring for young ambassadors.
The ASEAN Zone is represented by participants from Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Inspired by the highly-successful pilot project in the West Zone, the ASEAN programme was launched fresh off the heels from the East Zone which is now in its second week.
AURORA Founder Amani Kamel Al Qadi, who is also a Member of the AFC Social Responsibility Committee, said: “As we prepare for what life looks like after the pandemic, there has never been a better time to harness sentiments of solidarity and unity, to enlighten, empower and engage a network of youth ambassadors in a meaningful and professional experience of service.”
