Ha Tay win Vietnam Women"s Championship first stage

Ha Tay clinched the first stage of the Vietnam Women”s Championship despite stuttering to their first draw in the tournament, a 2-2 deadlock, against defending champions Ho Chi Minh City recently.

The pacesetters have won four out of five matches and are on 13 points, three more than Ha Nam, who smashed bottom club Thai Nguyen 3-0.

Nguyen Thi Moon put Ha Tay ahead in the 20th minute only to see Hong Tien level the proceedings three minutes from the break. The lead was re-established for Ha Tay by Nguyen Thi Thanh five minutes from the referee”s final whistle and just when they thought they had sewed up the match, up popped Vietnam national team captain Doan Kim Chi to fire in the equaliser.

In another match, Hanoi scripted a comeback victory over Cua Ong Coal 3-2.
