Head coach Mai Duc Chung: “I need players who are good at defense and experienced for the final round…”
In the interview before the first training session of the Women’s National Team on Nov 28, prepare for Women’s Asian Cup 2022, head coach Mai Duc Chung stated that the team is hardly preparing for the first important mission in 2022 with an exciting spirit.

Remarking to the Women’s National League 2021 and the selection for women’s national team, head coach Mai Duc Chung said: “I was surprised by the Women’s National League 2021, even had a short time preparation, all teams showed good spirit and effort. There were only 5 teams but all efforted, especially Thai Nguyen T&T. I very appreciated the teams’ spirit”.
“In the women’s league, there were some young players who impressed me. Besides that, I also chose some experienced players who are coming back after injury. I want to open the opportunity for players to both training and recovery. I hope that they will recover soon”- Head coach Mai Duc Chung shared.
“The young players need time to improve so I called them to the national team to practice more and build up the next generation for the future.
We will play against strong teams such as Japan, Korea, who are rated high in the region and the world-level. Therefore, I need the experienced players”- Head coach Mai Duc Chung said.
As the plan, the team will gather at Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre. Until the end of Dec, the team will have 3 friendly matches before traveling to India for the Women’s Asian Cup 2022 in the middle of Jan 2022.
