Head coach Park Hang-seo believes in the ability of Vietnam team even when playing on the Indonesian home-ground
This morning (January 5), the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 organisation committee held a press conference before the first leg of semi-final between Indonesia and Vietnam. Speaking to the media, head coach Park Hang-seo expressed confidence in the preparation and ability of the players even when playing away from home.
Head coach Park Hang-seo said: “We have prepared well both mentally and physically. We will do our best in tomorrow’s game.”
Explaining the reason why Vietnam Team did not go to the training ground yesterday, but only practiced recovery at the hotel, head coach Park Hang-seo said: “It is true that the team plans to go to the training ground. However, because the team just finished a match and had to travel to Indonesia, therefore also needed to rest. Moreover, it rained yesterday, so I decided to let the players stretch and exercise at the hotel.”
In response to the question about Indonesia choosing the game time at 16:30 to serve security and safety, coach Park said that this is quite confusing because Indonesia is the host country for the U20 World Cup 2023, so fully qualified to ensure the organization of the match between Indonesia and Vietnam.
Attending the press conference with coach Park Hang-seo, striker Pham Tuan Hai also confirmed the team’s preparation for the semi-final first leg against Indonesia. “In tomorrow’s match, tactical or physical issues have been carefully prepared by the coaching staff. Tomorrow on the field, the whole team will do their best to have a good match, “said Tuan Hai.
This afternoon, Vietnam Team will have an official training session to get familiar with the Gelora Bung Karno stadium. This is a stadium with a capacity of nearly 80,000 seats, but the organizers only issue about 50,000 tickets for security reasons. According to the provisions of the Charter, 8% of the total number of tickets sold will be for fans of the away team. Thus, a maximum of about 4,000 Vietnamese fans will be able to come to the field and cheer for the Vietnam team in the upcoming match.
