Head coach Park Hang-seo sets 4 goals in the first training camp of the National Team in 2020
On the afternoon of Dec 6, Vietnam National team started the first training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre. In the interview before the session, head coach Park Hang-seo shared 4 goals of the team this term.
Head coach Park Hang-seo said: “At this training camp, we set 4 key goals. First, as we know, this is the first gathering time of the team in 2020. Before that, the national team also planned to gather but couldn’t do that due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, I want the players to return in a competitive mood. When playing at clubs, they have their private role and task, but in the national team, I want them to understand their role and position. I think this is the most important reason to organize this camp. Secondary, recent year, players worked very hard and tired. Even, at this moment, there wasn’t any player who has a dangerous injury and cannot play, there are some cases that need to check. I hope that when joining the national team, the injured players can have better treatment. Thirdly, the national team needs to have some chances about tactics, and last but not least, in this camp, we have 12 new players including some players who used to play at the national team, but under my guidance, this is their first time. Each position has a new player and I want they will positively compete with other players to create a better team”.
Besides that, head coach Park Hang-seo also share that, at this time, the team will do some activities, such as medical and nutrition issues, analyze the problem of 2019. “We will plan the team in a new format. We will divide the team into 3 groups to discuss and share the opinions about the ambition in 2021. This also my aim at this time”.
About striker Văn Quyết, head coach Park Hang-seo said: “I remember that I received many questions about Văn Quyết. He always on my concern list. In Hanoi FC, he always plays well. The national team always welcomes all players but still need to have a contention to develop. Hence, I think the decision to have Văn Quyết this time is normal and doesn’t have any special reason”.
The head coach said: “In the national team, we don’t evaluate the player by age, just need to have good performance at V.League. All players who join the national team will need to meet the requirements of coaching assistants”.

According to the plan, the team will practice at Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre, and will have two friendly matches with the U22 National team who will gather on Dec 18.
