Hoàng Anh Gia Lai signs new Brazilian striker
Hoàng Anh Gia Lai has signed a contract with striker Junior Paraiba, who will play here for the rest of the V. League season.
Junior Paraiba will play for Hoàng Anh Gia Lai to the end of the 2016 V.League season.
The 28-year-old Brazilian has been training with the team for a month and won over the club’s managers with his skill and technique, even though he lacks speed, according to coach Nguyễn Quốc Tuấn.
Before coming to Việt Nam, Paraiba won the Brazilian domestic league with Atletico Mineiro in 2007. He then moved to play in Portugal and Colombia.
Hoàng Anh Gia Lai’s coaches hope he will be a good replacement for his fellow countryman Osmar Moreira, who has been benched due to a broken tibia.
The former champions club also ended their contract with Japanese midfielder Masaaki Ideguchi, who did not meet expectations after 11 rounds of the tournament.
