Information about Vietnam national football team’s friendly match during FIFA Days in March 2025
As part of the preparation plan for the Vietnam national football team ahead of their first match in Group F of the final round of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has sent a letter to the Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) inviting the Cambodia national team to Vietnam for a friendly match with the Vietnam national team during the FIFA Days in March 2025.

Earlier, at the request of head coach Kim Sang Sik, VFF had reached out to invite several teams with quality and playing styles that would align with the Vietnam national team’s preparation for their match against Laos in the final round of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. After receiving the information from the VFF, the FFC accepted the invitation to participate. Currently, both federations are carrying out the necessary procedures to organize the match.
The Cambodia national team has shown significant progress recently. With the addition of naturalized players, the “Angkor Warriors” made an impressive performance at the 2024 ASEAN Cup, winning against Timor Leste (2-1), drawing with Malaysia (2-2), and losing to Singapore (1-2) and Thailand (2-3).
If nothing changes, the friendly match between the Vietnam national team and the Cambodia national team will take place on March 19 at Binh Duong Stadium. After that, on March 25, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will face the Laos national team in their opening match of Group F in the final qualifying round for the 2027 Asian Cup.
