Although playing with a team with a lot of adjustments, including “old player” Nguyen Van Quyet – who returned to the national team for the first time after 2 years with Tuan Tai, Manh Dung… but the Vietnamese team still competed against the away team Singapore. The great pressure from the Vietnam team was finally converted into a goal. In the 37th minute, from Ngoc Quang’s good ball in the middle of the field, Van Quyet skillfully overcame the opponent’s midfielder. After that, he has a shot from outside the penalty area and hit the dangerous corner to beat goalkeeper Sunny.
After the break, head coach Park Hang Seo put in a series of young players such as Van Khang, Duy Cuong, Dinh Duy, and Thanh Nhan. In the first time playing for Vietnam Team, these new faces have good performance. In the 50th minute, Thanh Nhan doubled the gap for Vietnam with a decisive and beautiful shot. From Tan Tai’s passing on the right wing, goalkeeper Sunny made a mistake when pushing the ball in the direction of Thanh Nhan. The defender of HAGL immediately shot the ball into the opponent’s goal.
Thanh Nhan called, Dinh Duy and Van Khang replied. In the 84th minute, Dinh Duy’s effort on the left side brought the ball into the Singapore penalty area. Center-back Harun subjectively let Van Khang stay behind before getting the ball and finally defeating goalkeeper Sunny. Before that, Vietnam Team also had a goal with the combination of two familiar national players, Van Duc, Tan Tai in the 71st minute. Seeing Tan Tai move from the right wing into the 5m50 ring of Singapore, Phan Van Duc passed the ball with a wise drop for his teammates to head close to the net to hit Singapore.
Having won 4-0 against Singapore, Vietnam Team had a convincing performance for the fans. More importantly, this victory comes from the beautiful goals and commendable performance from “old man” Van Quyet, or the first performance in Vietnam Team of Van Khang, Dinh Duy or Thanh Nhan.
