VFF and C14 sign co-ordination regulations of anti-corruption in football

Today morning (22nd April 2010), the signing ceremony of co-ordination regulations of anti-corrupion in football between Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and  Police Department of criminal investigation of social order (C14) – affiliated body of  Police Administration of Crime Prevention – Ministry of Public Security.

This is not the first time Vietnam Football Federation has coordinated closely with authorized organisations in the effort of establishing a transparent, beautiful and professional football nationwide. Since 2007, VFF and C14 – affiliated body of Police Administration of Crime Prevention – Ministry of Public Security had signed the co-ordination regulations of anti-corruption in football activities.

Mr Nguyen Trong Hy – VFF president said: “In recent 10 years, with enthusiasm, carefulness and responsibility, C14 has supported VFF on establishing co-ordination regulations and particularizing football anti-betting schemes for domestic football competitions such as National Top League, National 1st Division and National Cup as well as football activities at National Team level. Therefore, negatives in football sinse 4th VFF term and during 23th Seagames in Philippines had been revealed, prevented and legally santioned. As a result, football activities has gradually become ordered and effective then and an evidence was the Championship of AFF Suzuki Cup 2008, the Championship gained after 50 years of wait and effort.

Colonel Ho Sy Tien – Deputy Director of C14 Department emphasized: “we have asked for opinion of  Director General of Police Administration of Crime Prevention about this matter and we will have certain cooperation in crime prevention of social evils in general and betting and betting organisation in particular. Anti-corruption in football is also an important matter in the aspect of crime prevention of betting and betting organisation. After signing the co-ordination regulations, we will instruct local police authorities to exchange information and implement specific measures to prevent negative actions in football. Besides, we also need the co-operation of the Organising committee, Local organising committee and clubs’ leaders, coaches, players and other members to make a healthy environment in football activities and to contribute to the development of Vietnam football.

In order to ensure the more effective prevention of corruption, the co-ordination regulations of anti-corruption in football activities which was signed this time will define specific responsibilities, power and working scope of concerned parties, establishs the cooperative relationship, information system to prevent and eliminate negative phenomenon in football. This Regulations also adjusts the working relationship related to the funtions and duties of VFF and C14 in the aspect of preventing negatives in football which is under the control and management of Vietnam Footbal Federation and to ensure the effective execution the Instruction no. 15/2002/CT-TTg of Prime Minister and Circular no. 222/2003-TTLT – UBTDTT-BCA between Sports Committee (currently Sport Administration) and Ministry of Public Security.
