The Ho Chi Minh City team has withdrawn from the Vietnam LG Cup tournament which will be played here from September 20-24, reported the Ho Chi Minh City Sports daily on Friday.
The Ho Chi Minh City team has withdrawn from the Vietnam LG Cup tournament which will be played here from September 20-24, reported the Ho Chi Minh City Sports daily on Friday.
The fixtures list is set to be redrawn due to the pull-out of Ho Chi Minh City and now the Vietnamese Under-23 team will compete with the three foreign sides in the fray defending champions Republic of Korea Universities, Bulgaria and Syria Under-21 teams. The matches will be played on a round-robin basis with the winners receiving $40,000 and the runners-up $20,000. The team placed third will stand to get $10,000.
The last edition saw Korean Universities defeat Vietnam 4-3 in the final.
