Women"s team win first friendly in Taiwan

The Vietnamese women”s football team won their first friendly game against their hosts Taiwan B during their training tour.

The Vietnamese team, with goalkeeper Kieu Trinh; defenders Bich Hanh, Bui Thi Tuyet, Thuy Mien; midfielders Nguyen Thi Ly, Mai Lan, Thanh Mai, Van Thi Thanh, Kim Chi; and forwards Le Thi Oanh and Hong Tien in the first half, created four scoring opportunities but failed to net.

In the second half, only goalkeeper Kieu Trinh was not replaced. Coach Mai Duc Chung brought on Thanh Huyen, Vu Thi Tan, Ngoc Anh, Kim Hong, Vu Thi Anh, Nguyen Thi Huong, Tu Thi Phu, Minh Nguyet, Tuyet Mai and Hong Nga. The Vietnamese team scored two goals by Tuyet Mai, who finished off a good through ball from Hong Nga in the 58th minutes, and Minh Nguyet in the 89th minute after ghosting past the Taiwanese goalkeeper.
