Lively Kick-off of the Yamaha Cup 2025 National U13 Youth Football Championship

On the afternoon of July 3, at Binh Duong Stadium (Thu Dau Mot Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the Final Round of the Yamaha Cup 2025 National U13 Youth Football Championship officially kicked off. The opening ceremony was held in a solemn, concise, and meaningful manner, marking the beginning of an exciting competition featuring many thrilling matches.

Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Nguyễn Phạm Duy Trang – Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairwoman of the Central Young Pioneer Council; Ms. Nguyễn Trường Nhật Phượng – Member of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council; Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Đạt – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City; and Mr. Cao Văn Chóng – Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, Head of the Local Organizing Committee.

Mrs. Nguyễn Trường Nhật Phượng – Member of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council (far right) presented flowers to the teams and referees participating in the tournament.

Representing the tournament’s Organizing Committee were writer and journalist Nguyễn Phan Khuê – Member of the Central Young Pioneer Council, Editor-in-Chief of Thiếu niên Tiền phong và Nhi đồng Newspaper, and Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee; and Ms. Đinh Thị Thu Trang – Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation, Co-Head of the Organizing Committee.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented meaningful gifts and scholarships to players from ethnic minority backgrounds who are currently representing teams at this year’s Final Round. The gesture aimed to recognize and encourage the efforts of these young athletes in pursuing their passion for football.

Right after the opening ceremony, the first matches of Group A took place. In the opening game, U13 Becamex Binh Duong allowed U13 Binh Duong to come back and level the score at 2-2 after taking a two-goal lead, missing the chance to secure a full 3 points. In the other match, U13 Phu Tho scored a late equalizer to draw 1-1 with U13 Hanoi.

Earlier that same morning, matches in Groups B and C also took place with great excitement. In Group B, U13 Da Nang edged past U13 Hue with a 1-0 victory, while U13 VES Ba Ria – Vung Tau defeated U13 Haduwaco Hai Duong by the same scoreline. In Group C, U13 Hong Linh Ha Tinh beat U13 Navy Phu Nhuan (Ho Chi Minh City) 2-0; the other match between U13 Quang Nam and U13 Nam Dinh ended in a 1-1 draw.

The tournament will continue to heat up on July 5 with eight matches across all four groups, promising thrilling showdowns between some of the most promising young football talents from across the country.
