Việt Nam football top ASEAN ranking in December
Việt Nam jumped to the top of the ASEAN region with their No 112 ranking in the world, according to the latest ranking announced by FIFA on Thursday.
Việt Nam are back to No 1 in ASEAN after more than two years.
Việt Nam received 33 points from six matches of which they won two, drew three in an official tournament and drew a friendly game in November to move 13 steps from No 125 to No 112.
It helped them replace the Philippines as the best team of the ASEAN region and No 17 in Asia.
The Philippines drop to No 124 and second in the region.
Thailand are two steps higher than last month at No 130.
Iran, Australia and Japan are Asia’s most powerful teams, respectively.
There is no change in the world top three. Germany are the strongest, followed by Brazil, Portugal and Argentina.
