Official match schedule of Vietnam’s national teams at the 33rd SEA Games

According to the official schedule announced by the 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee, the Vietnam U22 men’s team, the Vietnam women’s team, and the men’s and women’s futsal teams will begin their campaigns at the regional sporting event in Thailand in early December, aiming to achieve the best possible results.

Under the guidance of head coach Kim Sang Sik, the Vietnam U22 national team has been drawn into Group B alongside Malaysia and Laos. According to the schedule, Vietnam will play their opening match against Laos at 18:30 on December 4, followed by a match against Malaysia at 18:30 on December 11. All Group B matches will take place at Tinsulanon Stadium (Songkhla). The three group winners and the best runner-up will advance to the semi-finals, which are set for December 15, while the bronze medal match and the final will be held on December 18 at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok).

In the women’s football event, the Vietnam women’s national team is placed in Group B with Myanmar, Malaysia, and the Philippines. As scheduled at Chonburi Stadium, coach Mai Duc Chung and his players will face Malaysia on December 5, the Philippines on December 8, and Myanmar on December 11 to conclude the group stage. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals on December 14, which will take place at Chonburi Stadium or TNSU Chonburi, depending on the performance of host nation Thailand. The final and bronze medal match are scheduled for December 17 at Chonburi Stadium.

In futsal, the Vietnam men’s futsal team will compete in a round-robin format against Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Myanmar. Matches will be played at Nonthaburi Arena. According to the schedule, coach Diego Giustozzi’s side will face Malaysia on December 16, Indonesia on December 17, Thailand on December 18, and conclude the campaign against Myanmar on December 19.

The Vietnam women’s futsal team, led by head coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang, is in Group B with Indonesia and Myanmar. Matches will be held at BTU Hall (Bangkok Thonburi University). The team will play its opening match against Indonesia on December 12 and the second group-stage match against Myanmar on December 14. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on December 16, before the final and bronze medal match take place on December 18.

At present, Vietnam’s football and futsal teams are entering their final training phases in preparation for the Southeast Asian Games, aiming for strong performances to reaffirm their standing and competitiveness in regional football.
