Semifinals of the 2026 National U15 Championship – Modern Cup: Hanoi I and The Cong Viettel I secure places in the final

In the first semifinal, Hanoi I faced Tay Ninh. Despite being the underdogs, Tay Ninh U15 entered the match confidently and created an early dangerous chance, surprising the capital side in the opening minutes. However, Hanoi I soon regained control, improved their possession, and launched several attacks toward the opposition goal. In the 18th minute, Hanoi I came close to opening the scoring, but the Tay Ninh goalkeeper made a timely save.

The two teams maintained a balanced contest for most of the first half, with no goals scored. In the second half, Hanoi I increased the pressure. In the 50th minute, they found the net from a header following a set-piece, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

Despite Tay Ninh’s strong defensive effort and pressing approach to limit their opponent’s attack, Hanoi I showed their quality at the right moment. In the 66th minute, Minh Huy broke the deadlock to make it 1–0 for Hanoi I. Riding the momentum, coach Sy Hai’s side continued to dominate, and in the 77th minute, Duc Dat added a second goal to seal a 2–0 victory. With this result, Hanoi I secured a place in the final.

In the other semifinal between SLNA I and The Cong Viettel I, both teams started cautiously. SLNA I controlled possession and created a better rhythm in the early stages, while The Cong Viettel I stayed compact defensively and looked for counterattacking opportunities.

Within the first 15 minutes, the Nghe An-based side had two notable attempts but failed to convert. In the 34th minute, from a well-worked attacking move, Minh Chanh capitalized on a pass from Truong Van Tai to open the scoring for SLNA I at 1–0. However, just before the end of the first half, The Cong Viettel I restored parity. In the 45+2 minute, Thanh Long took advantage of a defensive mistake to equalize at 1–1.

In the second half, The Cong Viettel I played more proactively, controlled the game better, and created several dangerous attacking moves. The match remained tightly contested until the 79th minute, when a turning point arrived as The Cong Viettel I were awarded a penalty. From the spot, Tai Loc converted successfully to make it 2–1.

In the closing minutes, SLNA I pushed forward in search of an equalizer. In the 88th minute, Truong Van Tai had a chance to level the score, but his effort was denied by the The Cong Viettel I goalkeeper.

At full time, The Cong Viettel I secured a 2–1 victory and booked their place in the final. Thus, the 2026 National U15 Football Championship – Modern Cup final will be contested between Hanoi I and The Cong Viettel I, while SLNA I and Tay Ninh share third place.
