Thai Nguyen Football Association’s congress
On the morning of January 10, at Hoang Hiep Hall, Thai Nguyen City, the 3rd Thai Nguyen Football Association’s Congress, term 2023 – 2028, was solemnly held and achieved good results.

Attending the Congress were Mr. Doan Van Cong – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province, representatives of leaders of departments, leaders of People’s Committees of districts and cities of the province… and nearly 100 delegates from member organizations and reporters for newspapers, television and radio stations of the province.
VFF delegates attending the Congress include: Mr. Le Van Thanh, Member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Grassroot Football Committee, Head of the delegation; Mr. Luu Quang Dien Bien, Director of the Grassroots, Coaching Education & Affiliated MAs; Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan – General Director of Vietfootball Joint Stock Company Vietfootball – a delegate presented a speech to the Congress on experiences in organizing 7-a-side Grassroots football tournaments in Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuong-Director of FFAV Community Football Project/Norwegian Football Federation in Vietnam.
The Congress focused on discussing and summarizing the activities of the past term. According to the report, the Provincial Football Association has closely coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize and build the grassroots football, achieving many encouraging results. The grassroots football of recent years is being restored and gradually developing to truly become an integral part of the spiritual life of the masses. Currently, most districts, cities, towns, schools… have football clubs operating effectively. Although the facilities are still difficult, the grassroots has attracted a large number of young people. Pupils, students, workers and employees participate in training and competitions.
The province’s football tournaments organized by the Provincial Football Federation in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and sponsors and related units are still guaranteed in quality and are supported by football fans; Thai Nguyen T&T Women’s Football Club has made many efforts in training and competition, showing progress through each season. Many players have been called up to the National Team and participated in the 2023 World Cup; The province’s children’s soccer team annually participates in all national youth championships and has participated in the national finals for many consecutive years.
During the operation of Thai Nguyen Provincial Football Federation, it always receives support from the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee, People’s Council, sectors, levels, and businesses, contributing to promoting the development of Thai Nguyen football.
To operate more effectively, the Congress approved the direction of the operating plan for the 2023 – 2028 term with main goals such as:
– Strictly implement the Charter and operational plans of VFF;
– Strengthen the role and responsibility of the Provincial Football Federation with all grassroots football activities of the province;
– Organize and regularly support football training and competition movements from grassroots levels;
– Coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to pay attention to the training of grassroots football guides and collaborators;
– Organize the selection and training of young soccer athletes U11, U13, U15, step by step towards establishing the province’s men’s football team;
– Focus on mobilizing all financial resources, from support from agencies, businesses, sponsors… to build long-term funding solutions to develop tournaments and funding Association activities.
The Congress agreed to elect 13 Executive Committee members, term III for the 2023-2028 term and key leaders among the 13 Executive Committee members of the Provincial Football Federation for the 2023-2028 term. The list is as follows:
– Mr. Luu Cong Son, Former Director of the Department of Sports, former Standing Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial Football Association, term II, was elected to the position of Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial Football Association, term III, term 2023-2028;
The Vice Presidents include: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuy – Director of BubaLus Group Joint Venture Company and Mr. Dang Van Nguyen – Director of PS Group Investment Joint Stock Company.
The General Secretary is Mr. Doan Viet Trieu, football coach of Thai Nguyen Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, Head Coach of T&T Thai Nguyen Women’s Football Club.
