The 1st meeting of VFF’s club licensing committee in 2023
On the morning of February 17, at the headquarters of the VFF, the first meeting of the Licensing Committee took place since the 9th VFF Congress (term of 2023-2026). Representatives of the VFF leaders attending the meeting were Mr. Tran Anh Tu – Vice President, Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi – General Secretary and Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha – Deputy General Secretary.
Members of the Club Licensing Committee attending the meeting were Mr. Pham Ngoc Vien – Chairman of the Committee, member of the AFC Licensing Committee; Mrs. Nguyen Thi My Dung – Deputy Chairperson, Member of FIFA Disciplinary Committee and other members: Mr. Le Hoai Anh – Secretary of the VFF President and Mr. Nguyen Duy Quang – Senior Auditor of AASC Auditing Company. Attending the first meeting of the VFF Club Licensing Committee, there were also licensing administrative departments and functional departments.
On behalf of the Club Licensing Committtee, speaking at the opening of the meeting, Mr. Pham Ngoc Vien – Chairman of the Club Licensing Committee welcomed all the members who had fully attended the first meeting and affirmed that this was an important meeting for the Committee to have suggestions to the Standing Committee, giving orientation for licensing in the following years. “The duration of this season is relatively short. Until the end of the year, the Club Licensing Committee needs to quickly implement the licensing work for the 2024 season. The current licensing activity also has difficulties that need to be adjusted. Therefore, through this meeting, it is recommended that the members discuss carefully and consider possible situations,” said Mr. Pham Ngoc Vien.
In the next contents of the meeting, the members discussed and approved the proposed license implementation plan in 2023, reported the results of the inspection of the facilities of the clubs at the beginning of the V.League season 2023 and a summary of the number of clubs registered to participate in the 2023 youth tournament. At the meeting, the members heard representatives of the Licensing Department present the implementation of licensing for clubs participating in the AFC club’s tournaments 2023/2024 with advantages and disadvantages as well as AFC’s opinions on licensing activities of VFF; The AFC’s Club Licensing Quality Standards are applicable to licensor. The issue of the legal status of Viettel Club was also discussed in the meeting. In addition to work related to professional football licensing, the committeee also discusses plans to survey and license Futsal’s and women’s clubs.
On behalf of VFF, Vice President Tran Anh Tu said that on the the contents mentioned at the meeting, difficult issues as well as shortcomings and limitations in club licensing activities will be reported to the Emergency Committee for a solution. Mr. Tran Anh Tu suggested that the members of the comiittee continue to research and propose solutions to remove difficulties for clubs in order to meet the criteria in the Club Licensing Regulations, thereby meeting the necessary qualification to participate in national professional leagues and AFC tournaments. More importantly, the good implementation of the License Regulation is very important for the sustainable development of clubs in particular and Vietnamese football in general.
