The 2025 HDBank National Futsal Championship kicks off: The mark of the new team, HCMC Youth
On the afternoon of February 16, the 2025 HDBank National Futsal Championship officially kicked off at the Q8 Futsal Club Arena (Ho Chi Minh City), featuring the first two matchups of the opening round. Both opening matches were thrilling, promising an exciting and dynamic season ahead.
In the first match at 3:00 PM, despite being the favorites, Sahako failed to secure all three points against Sài Gòn Titans. The “Three-legged Crow” took an early lead with goals from Vũ Đức Tùng (3′) and Huỳnh Huy Hảo (5′). However, a red card for Lê Quốc Nam in the 15th minute disrupted their momentum. Sài Gòn Titans seized the opportunity to reduce the score to 1-2. Not stopping there, in the final moments of the match, Gia Thọ scored an equalizer with a close-range finish, bringing the game to a 2-2 draw for the home team.
In the second match at 6:00 PM, living up to the fans’ expectations, the newcomer HCMC Youth delivered a disciplined performance and won 4-3 against Luxury Ha Long, after a thrilling back-and-forth match.
It was a bit disappointing for Luxury Ha Long, as they created a good game but struggled with finishing. The turning point came in the 38th minute when they were reduced to 4 players due to Danh Toại’s red card, which led to an additional goal conceded and left them empty-handed in their opening match.
