The VFF extends the contract with Technical Director Koshida Takeshi

Mr. Koshida Takeshi, born in 1960, has dedicated many years to Japanese football as a player before transitioning into coaching in 1995. He has held various positions, including head coach of the Ishikawa regional team, Kanazawa Sakuragaoka School team, and served as the Technical Director of Zweigen Kanazawa – a club playing in the J-League – from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, he has been an advisor to Hokuriku University since 2013. With over 30 years of experience in football, Mr. Koshida Takeshi has earned the trust to participate in the training of national coaches for the Japan Football Association (JFA) in C, B, and A-level coaching courses.

Mr. Koshida Takeshi officially took on the role of Technical Director of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) starting from June 1, 2023, and continues in this position. During his time working in Vietnam, he has participated in organizing and teaching 16 coaching courses with AFC “C”, “B”, and “A” certificates, trained and assessed the Vietnamese coaching staff, and organized football workshops to help Vietnamese instructors/coaches keep up with the trends in Asian and global football. Mr. Koshida Takeshi has also actively contributed ideas to develop community football programs in Vietnam, playing a crucial role in helping the VFF achieve Professional Member status (the highest level) in the AFC Coaching Convention.

VFF General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú stated that extending the contract with Mr. Koshida Takeshi is necessary and aligns with Vietnam’s football development strategy, where training coaches and coaching instructors for youth football levels plays a vital role. “The VFF believes that Technical Director Koshida Takeshi will continue to make effective contributions to the plan of strengthening the national teams, training coaches, and enhancing the quality of football training in Vietnam in the upcoming period,” emphasized VFF General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú.
