The Vietnam team announced the official list of 26 players participating in the 2023 Asian Cup
On the evening of January 11, head coach Philippe Troussier made the final decision on the official list of 26 players for the Vietnam team to attend the 2023 Asian Cup.
Accordingly, 4 of the 30 players who went to Qatar to train before the 2023 Asian Cup had to say goodbye to their teammates, midfielders Pham Van Luan, Trieu Viet Hung, Le Van Do and striker Bui Vi Hao. The selection of personnel for the team was carried out very carefully by the French coach. Not only based on the training process and performance of the players in the recent “rehearsal” friendly match with Kyrgyzstan, he also observed the afternoon practice session of January 11 to ensure his decision was correct.
Before this training session, coach Philippe Troussier also held a meeting to dissect the pros and cons of the team’s playing style and the positions on the field through video analysis of the match against Kyrgyzstan. He expressed his confidence in the progress of his students and affirmed that all the players present in Qatar meet what he wants in implementing the team’s playing style. At the 2023 Asian Cup, the opponents are considered stronger, but winning against the Vietnam team is not easy. “The spirit of Vietnam is to never give up. Let’s keep that spirit when we enter the Asian Cup,” coach Philippe Troussier emphasized.
Returning to the afternoon practice session on January 11, coach Philippe Troussier continued to hone the ability to hold the ball and play proactively that he and his colleagues are building for the team. He also spent a lot of time practicing additional coordination pieces in attack and defense, increasing the connection between the lines. The good news for the team is that defender Do Duy Manh has recovered from his injury and returned to training with high intensity throughout the training session.
