The Vietnam women’s team returns to Hanoi
Finishing the training session in Hai Phong and returning to Hanoi, today (September 13), the Vietnam women’s team practiced at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi) to prepare for ASIAD 19.
Sharing before this afternoon’s training session, striker Hai Yen expressed confidence in the young players joining the team during this period. “At the 19th ASIAD, the team was missing a few key players, but we believe the young players will be able to integrate to get the best playing condition. They are gradually adapting and meeting the requirements of the coaching staff.”
In the upcoming tournament, the Vietnam women’s team will be missing some familiar names such as Huynh Nhu, Thuy Trang, Chuong Thi Kieu, and My Anh, although the coaching staff has also prepared to ensure positions on the field. Recently, striker Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan of HCMC club was also summoned to add strength to the team.
“Coach Mai Duc Chung gave us practice on changes and positions to compensate for the absence of Huynh Nhu and the others. The whole team also tries to become more and more effected. Regarding tactics, the coaching staff has the right balance and arrangement. I haven’t played much with the Nepal and Bangladesh women’s teams, but the Japanese women’s team, we has had many opportunities to play with them before,” Hai Yen shared.
The Vietnam women’s team will have 5 days to prepare before departing for Wenzhou (China) on September 19. The first match of the Vietnam women’s team against the Nepal women’s team will take place on September 22 at Wenzhou Olympic Stadium.
