Regarding the team participating in the tournament, more than half of the players on the team are members of the national youth team, so the coaching assistants also knew about each player in advance.
“In general, we understand each other quite well. Recently, we had a 2-week training camp in Japan. This was a successful training session. The Japanese side has supported a lot, the coaching assistants and the players can still gain more effective experience during the training camp. In the preparation for the upcoming Southeast Asian tournament, the whole team does not set high target but looks forward to next year’s Asian tournament so that the players can comfortably learn and gain experience,” said head coach Ijiri Akira. .
At this tournament, the Vietnamese women’s U18 team is in Group A with Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore and host Indonesia.
The U18 Vietnam team will meet Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia and Thailand respectively on July 24, July 26, July 28 and July 30.
