Easy victory for under-23s against Laos

The Vietnamese under-23s had one change in their starting XI compared to the opener against Singapore, with Cong Vinh replacing Thanh Binh to partner his team mate Pham Van Quyen in Song Lam Nghe An.
In the second minute, Cong Vinh had the first opportunity as he ran into the penalty box but his shot was wide.
Four minutes after kick off, the Vietnamese under-23s went in front after Van Quyen opened the scoring. The Vietnamese striker was always a trouble for the Lao defence. Minutes after his first goal, Van Quyen”s powerful volley was centimetres wide. The Vietnamese under-23s completely controlled the game. In one minute, they had two more goals, scored by a Lao defender. The Laotians narrowed the gap surprisingly. After goalkeeper Quang Huy failed to catch a harmless cross from the right flank, the ball deflected unlucky leftback Van Truong and found the back of the net.
Striker Van Quyen scored his second goal in the match, converting a spot kick after Quoc Anh was brought down in the box.
The Laotian under-23s scored their second goal minutes after Van Quyen”s goal.
However, before halftime, striker Cong Vinh scored two more goals to help the under-23s lead 6-2.
In the second half, Hoang Thuong was brought on to replace Quoc Vuong, who was booked in the first half, and Thanh Binh replaced Van Quyen. After an effort by Thanh Binh, Cong Vinh scored his third goal in the match.
Two minutes from time, Tan Tai cannoned a powerful strike from 30 metres to seal a 8-2 victory for the under-23s.
The Vietnamese under-23s now top Group B with six points after two matches. They next play against Myanmar on November 24 before facing Indonesia on November 26.
In a later match, Myanmar were held to a scoreless draw by Indonesia. Myanmar played better than their Indonesian opponents. They were unlucky to gain a better result when they were denied by the woodwork.
