The game was part of China”s preparations for the Doha Asian Games and coach Ma Liangxing fielded all his first eleven members including Ma Xiaoxu, Bi Yan and Huan Duan.

Duan fired China into the lead in the 10th minute and it was 2-0 in the 25th minute after an own goal by a Vietnamese defender. FIFA U-20 Women”s Championship”s top scorer and golden boot winner Xiaoxu set up a perfect opportunity for Duan in the dying minutes of the first half and the latter didn”t miss, putting China 3-0 ahead.

Liangxing changed his squad in the second half and gave his reserve players a chance to get exposure and this led to Vietnam scoring their only goal in the 70th minute. Ren Liping capped the win for China 10 minutes from time after a solo effort.
