U17 Vietnam had the first training session in Thailand
Last night (June 15), U17 Vietnam had the first training session in Thailand to prepare for the opening match against U17 India on June 17.
On the first day, due to having to take an early morning flight to Thailand, coach Hoang Anh Tuan let the players exercise and swim freely in the campus of Rama Gardens Bangkok hotel. Until yesterday (June 15), after a morning rest and team meeting, at 20:00 pm, U17 Vietnam had a practice session at the field near Thamasat Stadium, where the matches in the group stage will take place.
The pitch is beautiful, along with the high concentration, so the training session of U17 Vietnam is quite good. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan gave the players defensive exercises, controlling the ball near the goal to stretch opponents or attack situations. He is also ready to stop the training session to correct his players when necessary.
Talking about the team’s preparation as well as accommodation in Thailand, Mr. Tran Van Quynh – Head of the U17 Vietnam to attend the 2023 AFC U17 Asian Cup said: “For the first time, I have been able to attend and hold the position of a team manager, I feel that the spirit and psychological state of the players are extremely comfortable. I think everyone is ready to go into the tournament.
As for accommodation, right from the moment we arrived in Thailand, the coaching assistants and doctors went to check the facilities and food. Rama Gardens Bangkok has 8 accommodation teams and the facilities are quite good. The first meal, due to being late, the food was limited, we also had a petition with the host. Right in the afternoon, the meal has improved very well, with enough nutrition. As the team manager, I also have the support to help the players gain more energy, get the most comfortable spirit before entering the first match.”
According to the arrangement of the LOC, U17 Vietnam will play all 3 group stage matches at Thammasat Stadium, in 2 time frames, 17:00 and 19:00. Hoang Anh Tuan’s team will have the opening match against U17 India on June 17, then, respectively, meet U17 Japan on June 20 and U17 Uzbekistan on June 23.
At this year’s finals, the teams will compete in a round-robin round to calculate points. The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinals. The quarter-finals will take place in 2 days, June 25 and June 26. The semi-finals will take place on June 29, and the final will take place at 7 p.m. on July 2.
The four semi-finalists will win tickets to the FIFA U17 World Cup 2023 taking place in October.
