U19 Vietnam actively sharpen tactics, ready for clash against U19 Myanmar

Following a 3-0 victory over Timor-Leste U19s in their opening match, coach Yutaka Ikeuchi and his players entered the training session in high spirits, yet remained fiercely focused. On the pitch, the coaching staff concentrated on perfecting tactical plays, while reviewing and adjusting technical issues identified after the opening game.

Despite securing all three points and enjoying a smooth start, the Vietnam U19 coaching staff maintained high standards to help the squad better unlock their potential. Consequently, the June 3 afternoon training session focused primarily on enhancing coordination between lines, clinical finishing, and sharpening focus in defensive organization.

Compared to Timor-Leste, the Myanmar U19s are rated as a higher-quality opponent and are expected to pose a much tougher challenge for Vietnam. Myanmar enters the match with high determination to secure a positive result following their defeat to hosts Indonesia in the opening round.

Beyond the technical matchup, the standings in Group A make this clash between Vietnam and Myanmar particularly crucial. Under the tournament format, only the top team from each group and the single best runner-up will advance to the semifinals. This means the Vietnam U19s must aim for a victory to maintain their edge in the race for a knockout spot, ahead of a highly anticipated and difficult final group match against hosts Indonesia.

According to Team Manager Nguyen Anh Tuan, the entire squad is currently in excellent physical and mental shape after days of training and competing in Medan. Pitch conditions and the weather are no longer major obstacles, as the players have successfully adapted since arriving in Indonesia.

The match between Vietnam U19s and Myanmar U19s will kick off at 16:00 on June 4 at the Sumatera Utara Main Stadium (Indonesia) and will be broadcast live on TV360.
