AFF U18/ U19 Women's Championship

U19 Vietnam Girl’s Team to Face Myanmar, Laos, and Timor-Leste in Group Stage of 2025 ASEAN Championship

This morning (May 9), the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) conducted the official draw for the 2025 ASEAN U19 Girl’s Championship. As a result, the U19 Vietnam Girl’s Team was placed in Group A alongside Myanmar, Laos, and Timor-Leste.

Group B consists of Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Malaysia. According to the AFF’s announcement, the 2025 ASEAN U19 Girl’s Championship will take place from June 9 to June 18, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City. Matches will be held at three stadiums: Thong Nhat Stadium, District 8 Stadium, and Phu Tho Stadium.

The tournament will follow a single round-robin format in the group stage, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals. The tournament will conclude with the final and the third-place playoff.

Since its inception in 2014, the tournament has become a key competition for youth women’s football in the region. The Vietnam U19 women’s team has reached the final three times — in 2014, 2022, and 2023 — but has yet to lift the championship trophy, finishing as runners-up on all three occasions.

To prepare for this year’s tournament, the Vietnam U19 girl’s team will begin training on May 12 at the Thanh Long Sports Center in Ho Chi Minh City. With the advantage of playing at home and strong support and investment from the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), the team is well-positioned to aim for the highest goal.
