U23 Vietnam prepares for the match against U23 UAE with focus and positive spirit
At noon on March 23 local time, the U23 Vietnam returned to the training ground to prepare for the match against U23 UAE in the second round of the U23 international Cup Doha-Qatar 2023. The losing in the match with Iraq more or less affected the mentality of the players, but the whole team still made great efforts to focus and look forward to the next match with the most positive spirit.
Due to the recent experience of the competition, head coach Philippe Troussier divided the U23 Vietnamese force into two groups. The main kick group in the match against Iraq U23 practiced recovery and relaxation of the tendons, while the other group was trained in coordination exercises to control the ball and finish the goal.
The French leader also spent a lot of time to learn from experience right on the training ground with the main team of players in the last match, dedicatedly instructing his students to correct the mistakes that were revealed in the match against U23 Iraq.
Before that, he also shared with his players: “The loss to Iraq has not affected the main goal that U23 Vietnam is aiming for, because this tournament is just a stepping stone in the process of preparing for the 32nd SEA Games. The match against Iraq is our first international match and the opponent is a higher level team, so of course you will have a difficult mental state. The important thing is that after the defeat we will strengthen to play better in the next match. In order to progress sometimes we also have to pay a price. Therefore, you need to think positively and maintain the will to fight. That’s what I expect from you.”
Regarding the upcoming match against U23 UAE, U23 Vietnam will not have the service of Tien Long and Minh Khoa. These two players received a red card in the match against U23 Iraq and had to miss 1 match.
