The Vietnam under-16 team have been eliminated from the Asian qualifying round after a 2-1 defeat to Laos on November 1.
The team earned two points after three games as they drew 1-1 with Cambodia and 0-0 with Hong Kong.
The Vietnamese team opened the scoring with Van Thuan heading home after ten minutes.
The Laotian side dominated the game and levelled five minutes after the hour mark. They seal a victory five minutes from time.
In another match, Japan beat Hong Kong 7-0.
