Vietnam will compete with Indonesia, Singapore and Laos for two berths in the semi-finals of the 2007 Southeast Asian championship

Vietnam will compete with Indonesia, Singapore and Laos for two berths in the semi-finals of the 2007 Southeast Asian championship.

The draw ceremony took place in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 27. The draw was based on the achievements of teams at the 2002 and 2004 Southeast Asian championship (formerly Tiger Cup) with co-hosts Thailand and Singapore being top seeds of two groups.

Indonesia, who reached the final twice, and Malaysia, who reached the semi-finals twice, were in slot two, while Vietnam and Myanmar, who exited the group stage of the 2004 championship, in slot three.

Vietnam were then drawn to Group B with co-hosts Singapore, Indonesia and Laos.

The winners of the championship will be awarded US$100,000, runners-up will receive US$50,000 while third-placed teams, US$15,000.

January 14, 2007(Group A) 4:30pm: Malaysia vs. Myanmar
                                             7:00pm: Thailand vs. Philippines

January 15, 2007: (Group B) 5:30pm: Vietnam vs. Indonesia 
                                              7:00pm: Singapore vs. Laos

January 16, 2007(Group A) 7:00pm: Myanmar vs. Philippines
                                             7:00pm: Thailand vs. Malaysia

January 15, 2007: (Group B) 8:00pm: Vietnam – Laos
                                              8:00pm: Singapore vs. Indonesia
