VFF accompanied with Next Media had the meeting with DFB and Bundesliga International
Bundesliga International CEO Robert Klein joined leaders from the Vietnam Football Federation and Vietnamese broadcaster Next Media this week to share ideas regarding the latest broadcast technology and audience engagement methods.
The meeting, which took place virtually, touched on a range of potential collaboration areas including the Bundesliga’s current league and club structure, its focus on youth development, the role of sports technology and the league’s media and marketing efforts.
After signing a five-year broadcast agreement with Next Media in June 2020, Bundesliga International, a subsidiary of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, also committed to working closely with its partner to develop football throughout Vietnam. Widely regarded as one of the world’s leading countries for the development of young talent, the meeting was an opportunity for the Bundesliga’s officials to share their experiences of the German investment in youth academies, which has seen more than €1.6 billion invested since 2002.
The Bundesliga’s “glass to glass” approach, controlling 100% of the digital production from the glass of the camera lens to the glass of the consumer’s device, has set the league apart when it comes to implementing the latest in innovative technology. Recent examples include the successful rollout of 5G fan engagement technology and the cooperation with Amazon Web Services to fully utilise its vast data collection.
Bundesliga International CEO Robert Klein said: “When we announced the partnership with Next Media, one of our goals was to work hand-in-hand with them to support the development of Vietnamese football. By We will continue these discussions in the coming months and years, and I look forward to fostering closer relations with our partners in order to realise this aim.
