VFF introduces the head coach of national team
This morning at the headquarters of the VFF took place the ceremony to announce the head coach of the Vietnam national football team. Accordingly, Mr. Philippe Troussier (French nationality) officially became the head coach of the Vietnam national football team for a period of 3 years (from March 1, 2023 to July 31, 2026).
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Tran Duc Phan – Deputy General Director of Vietnam Sports Adminstration; Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – VFF President; . Mr. Duong Nghiep Khoi – VFF General Secretary; Mr. Nguyen Sy Hien – Chairman of the National Coach Council; Mr. Mai Duc Chung – Vice Chairman of the National Coach Council, head coach of Vietnam women’s team and members of the National Coach Council. Attending were also members of the Executive Committee of the VFF, heads of functional departments of the VFF, the General Secretariat, leaders of functional departments of the VFF, representatives of agencies under the VFF, representatives of VPF, sponsoring partners…
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Anh Tu said: “Today, the Vietnam Football Federation is very pleased to officially announce that Mr. Philippe Troussier – French nationality – will take the position of head coach of the Vietnam national team for a period of 3 years. This is the result achieved based on the consensus between the Vietnam Football Federation and coach Philippe Troussier for the national team’s goals in the coming period. The Vietnam Football Federation believes that, with the prestige and capacity that has been confirmed in his career as a coach in many countries around the world, especially with two years of experience working in Vietnam as a Technical Director at Vietnam Football Federation. PVF Center and the head coach of the U19 Vietnam, Mr. Philippe Troussier, will continue and promote the achievements that Vietnamese football has achieved over time, thereby bringing the Vietnam national football team to the new success, meeting the expectations of a large number of fans”.
For his part, the new head coach of Vietnam national team – coach Philippe Troussier shared: “Let me express my joy to meet everyone again, and my pride to be entrusted with the leadership position of the national team in Vietnam. After all, I have the opportunity to return to the country that I have come to know and cherish during my three-year tenure.
I fully understand the great importance of the responsibility coming here and hope that everyone believes that my focus will be fully focused on overcoming the challenges we face in the near future.
I appreciate the trust from the VFF, especially Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan – VFF President and the leader of the VFF for their dedicated support and have placed their trust in me to lead the national team and the U23 Vietnam. This is a moment that will forever remain in my heart.”
